The Raffia Palm tree, native to Madagascar, possesses plume like leaves. Wild Herb natural raffia is harvested from these leaves by sustainable source. The strands are cut from the leaves then left to dry in the sun. These raffia fiber strands are extremely strong and durable, yet soft with many uses.
Raffia is used in crafting to decorate jars, pictures, shelves and so much more, sometimes adding that country or rustic vibe to your decor. Weaved baskets and hats can also be made from natural raffia. Gardeners find it useful to hold up their plants by tying the plant to fencing with raffia.
Wild Herb Soap uses it to tie our soap bundles, as shown in the pictures in this listing.
Raffia strands measure anywhere from approximately 3 feet long to 5 feet long. Each strand can vary in length, color shade, thickness and feel.
