How Essential Oils Work
Essential oils can alter our physical, mental and emotional well-being by strengthening our bodies own natural systems. They are made up of tiny molecules that can deliver healing properties to the systems that control our bodies.
One way for the body to absorb the benefits of essential oils is inhalation through the nose . Inhalation can be the most direct delivery method of these beneficial components in essential oils. The chemical messengers in the nasal cavity have direct access to the brain.
When essential oils are applied topically, their healing components are absorbed into the bloodstream where they disperse to the specific organs and systems on which they work. Areas like the wrists, temples and the back of the neck are called pulse points, applying essential oils to these pulse points allow for quicker absorption.
Natural molecules found in essential oils are easily metabolized by the body. In fact, your body was created to handle them. When essential oil molecules find the receptor sites they were designed to fit and conveys its information to the cells. It then goes on its way to the liver and the kidneys and moves out of the body. Its benefits have been conveyed and its job is complete. Essential oils, properly applied, always work toward the restoration of proper bodily function. They do not cause undesirable side effects.
Aromatherapy can be achieved through a simple tea light candle diffuser. Simply place some water in the diffuser along with 4-5 drops of your essential oil or favorite blend. Your room will smell wonderful and it should last several hours. You can even mix your own spray to use in your car, a room or on your pillow at night. When you mix your own spray and add water to your oils it can spoil. We recommend a natural preservative used at 1-3 % called leucidal. When applying topically you should always dilute your oil about 8-1 with a carrier oil .We like grapeseed oil used in a roller bottle for this as it absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy. The picture at the top shows the various ways Wild herb Soap Co. sells the oils and custom blends.
